Tips for an Enjoyable Valentine’s Day in Silicon Valley

Despite the over-commercialism of the upcoming holiday, Valentine's Day is the perfect opportunity to put aside some time and reconnect with loved ones.  With Valley life going a mile a minute, this weekend is a good time to slow down and spend some quality time with those you love most.
Here are some fun ideas on what to do on Valentine’s Day for both families and couples:
Family Time on Valentine’s Day
How about breakfast in bed? Maybe the kids can help dad treat mom to breakfast in bed this Valentine’s Day – especially since it lands on Sunday this year.
There’s something inspirational about all those hearts! Have fun cooking, baking and decorating Valentine’s day goodies. Or get out your scrapbooking stuff and help your kids make cards for friends and family.
Cirque du Soleil’s newest show, Ovo, is showing in San Jose this month. This is great entertainment for the entire family to enjoy together.
Couples Time on Valentine’s Day
If you can find a babysitter, or maybe convince grandma and grandpa to watch the kids, Valentine’s is the perfect time for a nice dinner out. Take a look at Gayot’s Top Ten Romantic Restaurants in San Jose – just make sure to make reservations now.
Another option is a romantic dinner at home. If you have little ones, try to get them to bed a little earlier. If you enjoy cooking together, it’s a great bonding opportunity. One of our favorite partners, Deeelish! has a yummy Valentine's meal (check out our Facebook page for a special discount for Simplify fans).  If you don’t like the idea of cooking, let Simplify know and let us arrange a meal for you.
A couples’ massage is designed with luxury and romance in mind. The couple’s suite at Tova Day Spa also includes French champagne, fruit, and special indulgences. (Guests of Tova Day Spa receive a 10% discount on our service menu when the appointment is booked through Simplify!)
These ideas aren’t just for Valentine’s Day. Try scheduling some regular couple and family time on a regular basis and you’ll keep your love alive all year long.
