Simplifying interior design

Simplify's wonderful interior designer, Eliana, has a flair for design, redesign, colors and furniture placement. In addition, she is truly an artist herself and you can commission her to create art works for your home to complement your design and color scheme. Really, you can sit in her studio and enjoy a glass of wine while she finishes your piece!

In her own words, here is a tip from Eliana on how you can find out what your own personal style is...

"Interior Design is art as well as science -- envisioning, planning, and incorporating all aspect of the home décor. It is the combination of industry knowledge as well as aesthetic vision.

It is important to make the house become a reflection of one’s self – that is, “A Home”. A large part of Interior design is creating a cohesive environment that is pleasing to all the senses of the individuals living in the house. To do this, an interior designer is often required to be part therapist, part mediator and above all, a good listener.

To get to know your own style, look through magazines and tear out pages that you love. Look for a theme on all of your pictures. Are you drawn to bold colors or more subdued? modern, traditional, or contemporary furniture? textures? a minimalistic or eclectic style? Once you discover you're style, you will be more comfortable choosing pieces for your home."
