A quick comment about the
news reports regarding the housekeeper suing her Atherton former employer. While I don't know anything about the lawsuit or the details except what I've read in the news, I think in general it's deplorable when people take advantage of others. Especially when it comes to domestic workers, household assistance and childcare. I was just talking about this to a potential client yesterday. Homeowners have somehow become accustomed to shopping for the lowest price when it comes to the services for their homes. Perhaps it's because there always seems to be a housecleaner who is willing to accept less for the same housecleaning job. I'm a firm believer that you get what you pay for in terms of quality and convenience, but more importantly, why would someone want to get the cheapest rates out there when it comes to their home - their sanctuary - & the most precious of all - their children? Also, shouldn't we, as a society, support someone else who is trying to make a living and give them a fair living wage rather than take advantage of them for our own gain?
Social consciousness is one of
Simplify's core values. We ensure that our service professionals are getting paid what they need to make a living and thrive. We also help our service professionals develop and expand their businesses. Not only do we care about the people we work with and want to make it a beneficial partnership, but we want to make sure everyone is successful. After all, the world is abundant and as much as we can help others, we should.
